"Rare Adjv Presentation Hunting Dagger By Eickhorn"
Deluxe hunting dagger made by Carl Eickhorn with ADJV (=”Allgemeiner Deutscher Jagdschutzverein”) presentation blade. Eickhorn model 109. Stag horn grip with acorn grip inserts. Stag head style cross guard. One horn on the crossguard is broken off as can be seen on the pictures. Deluxe style Eickhorn scabbard with highly detailed bottom scabbard fitting. Both scabbard staples are gone on the backside but the scabbard does not come apart. Both scabbard fittings are “35” stamped. Big steel ADJV presentation hunting blade etched with the following text on the front: “Ehrengeschenk des Allg. D. Jagdschutsvereins Landesverein Rheinprovinz” meaning: “Honorary gift from the General German Hunting Protection Association State Association of the Rhine Province”. The backside of the blade has the personalisation etched with the following text: “Dem Staats Hegemeister Julius Storch in Burgbrohl” meaning: “To the State Forester Julius Storch in Burgbrohl”. The backside of the blade is also stamped on the ricasso with the Carl Eickhorn logo used until 1921. The blade is also “Ges Geschutzt” marked on the front and backside. This dagger model is published on page 88 in the original Eickhorn “Musterbuch der waffenfabrik Carl Eickhorn Solingen“ jubilaums-ausgabe 1908. A unique piece.
