"Color Engraving, Numbered (11/200) And Signed, “rue Heris” By Gielis Pierre "
The color engraving by Gielis Pierre represents the old dead end connecting rue d'Anderlecht to rue de la Senne, bordered by two rows of seven workers' houses, accessible by a covered passage at nos 187-189. The engraving shows the alley named after Héris, developer of the complex built before 1835, known as "impasse Héris" or "porte d'Héris" before taking its current name in 1851. In 1846, as illustrated in the engraving, four houses were demolished to extend the dead end towards rue de la Senne. The engraving highlights the narrow and symmetrical lane with two and a half storey houses and brick facades. The entrance, marked by two larger houses of three levels, is also present in the engraving. On the south side, the engraving shows nos 118-120 rue de la Senne. The blue stone inscribed “DOM..” and the blue stone terminal are faithfully represented in the engraving.
