Tabako-bon, Smoker Set, Nashi-ji Lacquer, Hiramaki-e, Metal & Silver Mount, Meiji

Superb Tabako-bon (smoker's set), quadrangular, opening with three drawers on the front. It presents over its entire surface a sumptuous gold and silver Hiramaki-e lacquer decoration of birds in couple under flowering plum trees. The facade and the left side have a similar decoration, when rooster, hen and chicks occupy the right side, and the back a decoration of peacocks among the flowering branches. The interior of the drawers and the upper tray are Nashi-ji lacquer, and the tray has compartments in silver metal, probably Paktong, the lids of which are in silver, one of which is openwork, decorated with cranes in prunus trees.
Very good general condition. I have nevertheless noted some tiny lacks of lacquer and wear, please look carefully at my detailed photos, I am not hiding anything. They also reveal the absence of the interior border of the openworked cover, so it does not fit together, and has a break and a dent, also well noted!
