This sculpture of the Virgin and Child holding the globe is an old work from the end of the 18th century.
Very soothing, her head covered with a veil from which strands of hair escape, she gestures with her right hand and holds the Child Jesus on her left.
He holds the terrestrial globe on the left and makes a gesture of blessing with his right hand.
Marie is dressed in clothes with numerous draping movements which match her attitude with her right knee slightly bent.
This sculpture is in good condition with usual restorations, remains of polychromy.
Each hand of the Virgin has a damaged finger and the Child Jesus has his right hand with 4 fingers missing.
Removable, it can be detached from the Virgin.
Comes from a large private collection.
