Condition report
Good condition. Some wear and tear on the vermeil, visible in the photographs but barely visible to the eye.
Our model was created in 1893, the golden age of creation within the KOCH & BERGFLED factory. It was in these few years before 1900 that the company's design office, headed by Heinrich von der CAMMER, created many classic models still produced today, including "Rokoko"[1].
The delicate shell shapes typical of rocaille, combined with light floral motifs wrapping around the large polished surfaces characteristic of this style, require great manual skill and years of experience on the part of the artisan goldsmith. This cutlery is intended to reflect the glory of an era which, under Frederick the Great, was interested not only in the fine arts, but also, for the first time, in the liberal spirit and in science and summons the memory of souvenir of Sanssouci Palace.
Today, KOCH & BERGFLED supplies German embassies with silver cutlery but also produces the UEFA Champions League Cup and the Golden Camera model for Hörzu magazine.
Very thick, solid and elegant, these mocha spoons perfectly reflect the know-how of one of the oldest European goldsmith factories.
[1] Our mocha spoons no longer exist in vermeil but are currently sold in solid silver at a price of €90 each.
