The Von Schierholz porcelain factory was established in 1817 in Plaue, Thuringia, Germany, by two brothers, Johann Karl Rudolf Heuäcker and Dr. Gottlob Ferdinand Heuäcker. An exclusive license to produce porcelain wares was issued to Schierholz by the government of Schwarzburg-Sonderhausen, which ruled the town of Plaue. The factory produced high-quality Dresden ware and is most famous for its Rococo, ornate, and Secession-style decorated porcelain. These pieces featured gilding, applied foliage, and flowers. Additionally, the company produced luxury wares, including table settings, candelabras, vases, flowerpots, baskets with applied flowers, figurines, and more. Throughout the ages, Schierholz products have been highly valued by collectors all over the world.
