Arthur Fillon (1900-1974) Beautiful and large oil on canvas in the spirit of the works of Albert Marquet signed lower left.

It represents the island of Saint Louis in the heart of Paris, animated by characters alongside the second-hand booksellers and barges moored on the Seine.

The whole is presented in a beautiful period frame.

Biography:

Arthur Fillon was born in Loiris (Loiret) in 1900 He studied at the Beaux-Arts in Marseille then at the School of Fine Arts in Paris.
Exhibitor at the Salon d'Automne and several times at the Salon des Indépendants from 1924. His name appears in the famous ''Bénézit'', vol 3, where we cite his circus scenes and his sporting decorations, or his bucolic scenes or moments on the banks of the canals of France and Europe.
