This antique Aubusson tapestry with French Romanticism is a work of art. Its historical value far outweighs the damage caused by centuries of wear and tear. The production of carpets and tapestries in Aubusson ended around 1870 and it is this 200-year period that attracts carpet lovers. Aubusson tapestries and carpets are from the Renaissance arts and still play an important role in our culture today.

This Aubusson tapestry is a classic example of French Romanticism. It features a cartouche of flowers and foliage, a rooster
associated with the Renaissance and therefore the return of summer, because it celebrates the return of the sun every morning with its song.

A magnificent palette of softer spring colours that surround the atypical centre of this tapestry.

Condition : This tapestry is a fragment, the upper outer border has been replaced on one side in its center on 75 cm long x 40 cm wide. A few other small restoration points on the whole tapestry not visible. Minor wear
