the sculpture depicts a solemn image of the Virgin holding the child in her arms, all rendered with extreme naturalness, manifesting the best qualities of the Veneta '500 sculpture in the elegance of the figure and its proportions as well as in the precision of the carving and the calibrated performance of the movement of the garments.  
The polychromy of the work is also highlighted by the gold details used in the Virgin’s mantle, which creates vibrant light and chiaroscuro effects. The virgin, with a delicate physiognomy is crowned and seated on a base that simulates a cloud, referring to the divine. Both mother and son break the stasis of the pose by twisting the bodies and heads facing in opposite directions, enriching the composition with a delicate movement and a vitality adherent to the truth.
