Splendid white marble bust representing Solon: Often considered to have established the beginnings of democracy in Athens by creating the conditions which would allow its emergence, he was first of all a representative of the aristocracy. He is one of the Seven Sages of Greece. Solon played an important political role, instigating a series of reforms that greatly increased the role of the popular class in Athenian politics. Size: height 60 cm - length 34 cm - depth 23 cm.
