Rare large Montpellier Olive Spoon in solid silver from the Louis XV period, plain-flat model with the handle engraved with a mavelot. Magnificent spoon with pierced decoration articulated around a grid with knobs at the intersections, surrounded by tears and tulips. Hallmark of Charge (crowned dog's head) and Discharge (crowned bird) of the Jurisdiction of MONTPELLIER 1750-54, Hallmark of Common House for MONTPELLIER 1751 (MPL surmounted by the "&" Crowned), and Hallmark of the prestigious Master Goldsmith Marc BAZILLE received to practice in Montpellier in 1732.
