"Silk Crepe Dress Embroidered With Pearls By Suzanne Talbot Haute Couture - Paris Circa 1930"
Circa 1930 Paris Long evening dress in black silk crepe densely embroidered with tubular pearls by Juliette Suzanne Talbot Haute Couture and dating from the 1930s. Straight cut, V-neck with plunging effect behind, balloon sleeves openworked by tabs at the shoulders. From the hips, three crepe ruffles are superimposed, creating a pointed effect with the embroidery. Interesting graphic design of black bead embroidery with a triangular and geometric effect, popular during the Art Deco period. Side snap button closure. No underdress and label in the skirt indicating J Suzanne Talbot, 14 rue Royale Paris. Some missing pearls and a slight period patina. No major fault. Good general condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: Equivalent to size 36 France. Height 143 cm, shoulders 39 cm, chest 86 cm, waist 72 cm, sleeves 26 cm, hips 90 cm. Juliette Suzanne Talbot (1879-1969) is one of the most original personalities of Parisian Haute Couture and the artistic avant-garde between the two wars. His house founded in 1917 is located at 14 Rue Royale in Paris. She creates surprising modern models by playing with the geometric shapes of Art Deco. His house closed in 1957.
