Circa 1860 Persia - Iran Table mat or hanging in Recht embroidery on applied wool felt called Rachti Douzi, dating from the golden age of the Kadjar dynasty in Iran. Rich decoration with a central almond motif under an architectural arch in the shape of a Mihrab and four floral galleries in the frame, the last of which is loaded with boteh. Chain stitch embroidery in white silk threads on wool felt applied in a wide palette of polychromes. No lining. Patina of time with some missing embroidery and a few very rare moth holes. Very good structural condition of color and conservation overall. Dimensions: 175cm x 130cm
