Saint Roch
oil on panel, cm. 23.7×17.9
within an ebonized and painted wooden frame for a total of cm. 42×35.5
The work is accompanied by an expertise on a black and white photograph by Prof. Fiocco dated 27/05/1067.
The work, in good condition, depicts a man taken in profile with his gaze turned to the right. The long hair and brown beard frame the face of a sweet and attentive man; the hand on the chest at the height of the heart, resting on a red robe laid over a light shirt skillfully rendered by the master capable of making it transparent.
The figure portrayed would appear to be Saint Roch, here represented without his typical attributes with the physical characteristics that characterize him such as, precisely, the thick beard and long hair.
Painting in good condition. An ancient restoration, carried out at the beginning of the 21st century, brought to light the right hand at the base of the work, a hand that had been covered at the time of the drafting of the expertise by Prof. Fiocco.
