A gilt bronze desk clock; A Roman centurion placed his helmet or “galea” next to a laurel wreath. The “Roman” helmet is the distinctive symbol of the military engineering corps in reference to the Roman legionnaire, both soldier and builder. The enameled dial is signed: AMALRIC in Geneva.
