"Cassowary Paw Zoology Plaster"
Rare plaster zoological model representing, at scale 1, or at real size, a cassowary leg. The rest of a label, written in German, indicates that this scientific-pedagogical model comes from Germany and dates back to the end of the 19th century. New Guinea, where the Cassowary partly originates, was a German protectorate until 1919. The Cassowary is one of the largest running birds, a cousin of the ostrich and the emu. It lives mainly in New Guinea and Australia, in tropical forests. Made from a single piece of plaster, the model measures 40 x 16.5 x 6.5 cm. A few accidents.
