The Emile Colin & Cie house was born in 1882, after Emile COLIN bought the E.VIE company and Co. In 1883, COLIN created a new company keeping the same company name, this was the definitive birth of the company Emile COLIN et Cie. The COLIN house essentially uses CARPEAUX edition models. COLIN works in particular with two collaborators, VESPIERRE and the engraver HAAN. COLIN also casts statues like the works of the sculptor CARPENTIER. The COLIN house also creates monumental groups, such as “DIDEROT” by Jean GAUTHERIN placed on Boulevard Saint Germain in Paris. Emile COLIN retired in 1898 and was replaced by members of his family, from that moment on, the name became M.COLIN et Cie. Emile COLIN died in 1899.
