Charles de ZIEGLER (1890-1962) "Wengernalp" Oil on cardboard Signed, located and dated 1933 on the back. The Wengernalp is an alpine pasture located at an altitude of 1,874 m. M. is located between Wengen and Kleine Scheidegg in the Swiss canton of Bern. It can be reached on foot or by the Wengernalpbahn from Wengen or Kleine Scheidegg and by ski from Kleine Scheidegg. In 1841, the Jungfrau Hotel was opened and rebuilt after a fire in 1865. Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Richard Wagner, Peter Tchaikovsky and many others spent their vacations at Wengernalp.
