"Large Caryatid Woman Draped Torchère Lamp In Patinated Metal And Glass, Late 19th Century"
Very large patinated metal lamp representing a draped woman erected as a caryatid, in fact, she holds the glowing glass globe in her hands. This is most certainly a lamp which must have been fixed at the bottom of a majestic staircase because the base is drilled to attach hanging screws. The sculpture and carving of the metal is of good quality with great realism in the execution. The patina or paint is vintage and has some chips, one finger repaired. The acid-etched sandblasted glass globe is a good size, it has two chips on the edge but this is not visible once the lamp is installed. Late 19th century period around 1890-1900. Delivery by carrier 100 euros in France, 200 euros in the EU and 500 euros rest of the world.
