Model 1822, square and round barrel, stamped on the underside with a crowned C and E, a P and I, and the numbers 14, 9 and 6; held in place by three silver nasturtiums stamped with foliage and foliage scrolls.
Percussion lock, engraved MONCEAUX in PARIS. Military dog, checkered crest and hallmarked screw. Silver counterplate hallmarked and engraved with foliage.
Hallmarked silver trigger guard and hoop.
Selected wood frame; silver buttplate, hallmarked and engraved with oriental calligraphy. Steel ramrod.
Joseph François MANCEAUX, settled in Paris around 1806, where he became a fourbisseur and patented manufacturer. He managed the Klingenthal depot under the Empire and the depot of the Manufacture Royale des lames de Klingenthal.
