"A Street In Auray, Morbihan Signed Albert Fernand-renault. "
Albert Fernand-Renault was born in Paris in 1887. He was a student of Cormont and exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris where he obtained a silver medal in 1928 and a gold medal in 1931. Painter of nudes and of landscapes, he painted with talent numerous views of Brittany and some very beautiful female nudes. Post-impressionist his painting is done with large brush strokes, large and generous, in pastel shades, his hand is sure and the composition is constructed without hesitation, if his landscapes burst with light, this is still decomposed in the manner of the impressionists , but the large flat areas of color make us think more of the Nabis. Here and there a few characters seem to be walking and give us the peaceful image of Brittany, as we like it, luminous, the sky just alive with one or two white clouds announcing good weather. Frame dimensions 78 cm x 106 cm, view 64 cm 91 cm.
