Object description :

"8 Geissler Tubes In Its Original Box, Special Shapes. "
Beautiful set of eight Geissler tubes in its original tiered box. The Geissler tube is a glass tube invented by German physicist (also glassblower) Heinrich Geissler in 1857 designed to visually demonstrate the principles of luminous light discharge (non-magnetized plasma). Geissler tubes (the first gas discharge tubes) had a significant impact on the development of many instruments and devices dependent on electrical discharge by gases. The glass cylinder, partially evacuated, is sealed on each side around a metal electrode at each of its ends (cathode and anode). 4 tubes in perfect condition and 4 others just missing a little cathode.
