Very large round DISH called “venison” in pewter with molded edge. It is stamped with friezes of repetitive motifs arranged concentrically: lions passant, Saint Sebastian, grids, flowers, fans and various geometric motifs.
Hallmark (worn) of Fratelli FILIBERTO received masters in 1770 affixed three times: two angels wearing a crown / FRATELLI FILIBERTO.
Diameter: 56.7 cm.
TURIN, End of the 18th century.

Of exceptional size in very good condition offering a beautiful decorative presence. These dishes were used to present "an naturel" to the table of small game or poultry. Once presented to the guests, the dish returned to the kitchen so that its contents were cut up and finally consumed. Bibliography: “Il peltro in Piemonte” by Attilio Bonci, 2005.
