"Pair Of Neo-gothic Chairs Stamped Ernest Eymonaud"
Extremely rare pair of chairs from Maison Eymonaud in Montmartre. Made by Ernest Eymonaud, antique dealer and furniture manufacturer in the medieval spirit, they bear witness to the last period of the Troubadour style. This work of great finesse, with pure lines, is marked by the developments of its time and suggests some Art Nouveau inspirations. These chairs are far from being a traditional neo-Gothic, sometimes clumsy, they are full of spirit and elegance like the Arts and Crafts creations from across the Channel. Very few objects stamped by Maison Eymonaud have reached us, but the house, a true Parisian madness, still stands. These chairs constitute an important historical testimony of an era still turned towards the past, gradually freeing itself from it.
