Object description :

"Léo Maes Vereenooghe 1885-1939 Ceramic - Vase - Farandole Dance - Art Nouveau"
Large vase by the Flemish artist Léo Maes-Vereenooghe. Around 1900-1910. This vase is made up of 10 female characters who, holding hands, perform a farandole all around it. The movement of this dance is reflected by the hair and dresses of these characters. Due to the technique used and the shades chosen, we find ourselves in the Art Nouveau of ceramics, but due to its composition we see there an expressionism on the borders of naive and raw art. The vase is in good condition, apart from a cooking defect on one face and a few small glaze chips. All visible in the photos. Height 27 cm, width 21, weight 2.8 kg. Quick and neat delivery.
