EAWER (called Stegkanne) in baluster-shaped pewter with a long bridged weir closing with a flap, moving lid with a top and molded palmette thumb. It is engraved with a floral motif and the following surnames: LAND SEKEL MEISTER / PETER KOLI 1736.
Control mark with crowned F.
Hallmark of Abraham GANTIG received master in BERNE in 1743.
"Arquebus" hallmark, attesting to the mention for the benefit of the winner of a shooting exercise.
Height: 31.8 cm.
BERNE (BERN), Mid-18th century.


Very good condition with a beautiful homogeneous natural patina.
Bibliography: “Die Zinngiesser der Schweiz und ihre Marken” by Schneider and Kneuss, which reproduce these hallmarks.
This typoogy of clearly medieval inspiration is often found in the still lifes of Dutch painters in the 17th and 18th centuries.
