Sumptuous Miniature, Bust Of Man In Camaieu, (att. Piat Sauvage)

Remarkable miniature, round gouache on ivory, presenting on a deep blue background the portrait of  handsome man from end of the  century, large collar, ponytail from our Directoire period, sculpted, thanks to the talent of the miniaturist, into a beautiful bust of White marble. This character must be recognizable.
Miniature is not signed, but there is only 1 miniaturist who has achieved (in my opinion) this perfection of “grisaille”: Piat Joseph Sauvage,
blown glass and gilded brass bezel are original, and placed in a reused black wooden frame; No flaw.
All photos were taken under glass, which loses some of finesse.
Dimensions = 5.5cm and 8.5cm with  frame;
Very rare miniature.
