Pewter CIMARRE in baluster shape with high pedestal, quarter-round throat, acorn lid and polylobed dangling handle with attachments decorated with human masks with collars.
Control mark: Crowned C / 1756 / (MON)TIERANDE(R).
Height: 25.7 cm.
MONTIER-EN-DER (Champagne), Second half of the 18th century

These vessels were intended for serving wine during receptions.
They partly retained their medieval typology in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Very good condition of conservation, a consolidation of the attachments of the handle, invisible on the outside, is however reported.
