"Ironstone Vase In The Mason Style, Circa 19th Century."
This is an antique ironstone vase made in the Mason style in England in the second half of the 19th century. The vase has a rather rare shape: a hexagonal base, a round body, then an expanding hexagonal neck, with two thin curved side handles ending in a mask head on either side of the neck. The central part of the vase features two different Chinese motifs on opposite sides; the motifs are surrounded by gilded floral decoration. The vase is brilliantly hand-painted in gold with bold glazes of different colours. This is a high quality piece in the recognisable Mason style, although the shape of the handles and the incorrect markings indicate that this is a high quality copy and not the original.
Dimensions: Height 25.8 cm, width 14.5 cm, depth 12.2 cm. Weight: 779 grams.
Condition: The vase is in excellent antique condition, with no visible signs of cracks, chips or restoration. The paint, enamel and gilding are perfectly preserved.
