Persia - Caucasus, "SHAMCHIR", late 18th century. Buffalo horn handle mount with two rivets, the brass eyelets missing. Straight cruise with short diamond-shaped lugs and straight quillon ending in a half ball. Blade with strong curvature + 10 cm of arrow, with stained gray patina, flat back and dorsal gutter. This blade is engraved on both sides with a series of magic formula type numbers on two lines "1 2 3 4 5 6" and "8 9 7 4" and on one side the furnisher's punch to be identified in the shape of half moon ...... Length: 93 cm Length of the blade: 81 cm Width at the heel of the blade: 3.5 cm Arrow of the blade: + 10 cm Shamchir in fairly good condition with traces of wear and absence eyelets, without sheath. A similar Shamchir with the same engraving on the blade is in the reserves of the Orbigny Museum in La Rochelle. Good state of conservation and use, see details in the photos.
