Magnificent rosewood correspondence desk with cherry wood side inserts and mother-of-pearl lock.19th century.
Original working lock.
It opens with a small flap at the top, lockable.
This opens into compartments containing 1 original crystal inkwell.
The small open flap allows the larger flap underneath to open onto a velvet top.
The velvet upper part is equipped with a flap inside which there is a secret compartment that can be opened via an ingenious mechanism that hides three small drawers.
Under 2 drawers you can see an original card still in excellent condition bearing the words:
