Large and very beautiful oil on canvas with a high degree of realism. It represents a bouquet of hollyhocks, tulips and dahlias freshly cut and ready to be placed in a vase also present. In the foreground a sliced but not seeded melon and two fluffy peaches. The whole thing is arranged on the luxurious marble of a chest of drawers which contrasts with the slightly worn appearance of the back wall. The whole plays with light and chiaroscuro. This painting was produced at the end of the 19th century, it has been preserved in its original frame, there is no visible signature. Please note: this painting is in good general condition. It is currently covered with a very matt, somewhat thick varnish. Two small accidents to the frame and several old professional and non-professional restorations. The only accident visible on the front of the painting is the small tear on the pink flower in the center left, the rest being visible only on the back. Please look carefully at the photos.
