"An Exquisite 19th-century Victorian Era 9k Gold Fob Pendant"
This nice Victorian fob pendant features an agate seal showing a stork feeding its young in the nest. This beautifully carved intaglio resonates with deep symbolism, as it combines the embodiment of love and caring in a single image. It is mounted on a 9 kt gold frame (tested) it is not solid gold but likely a gilt gold, also called rolled gold, which consists of a thin layer of gold that's mechanically bonded or heat-fused to a base metal and then rolled out to create jewelry. It was very common on these type of jewellery at that time
It is a delicate looking seal and could be worn as part of a small collection of seals on a chain or on its own.
