Burkina Faso, Lobi people, superb bulb whistle from the 1950s in bronze. A turtle adorns the center of the body. This whistle was used during ritual dances but also for hunting. The small hole at the base allowed it to be worn as a necklace. The shape and proportions give this piece a remarkable aesthetic.
