Rare Pastel represent Princess Marie Adelaide Clotilde Xaviere of France, known as , daughter of the dauphin Louis and sister of kings Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X, after Drouais. This high quality pastel, dating from around 1761/1762, is not signed but could come from the workshop of François Hubert Drouais. It is interesting to note that the official painting, exhibited at Versailles, includes the portrait of the Count of Artois, not represented in this pastel version. This painting is in very good condition, preserved in its original gilded wood frame.
