The old adage “memento mori” calls people to think about their own mortality and the end of life. This sculpture shows a skeleton with still parts of skin. A popular 17th century theme to place in a cabinet of art and curiosities. Wood sculpture made in Germany in the 18th or 19th century. Length; 19.5cm.
