"Kachina Doll, New Mexico Or Arizona"
The Kachinas or Katchinas are spirits in the mythology of the Hopies and Zuni of New Mexico in the southwest of the United States. They are offered at the end of ritual festivals once a year so that they become familiar with the world of spirits. Old Kachina doll from the first half of the 20th century measuring 38 cm excluding base, sculpture in light cotton wood (poplar root), natural pigments, beautiful patina of time. An object acquired in Morocco and coming from former expatriates in Marrakech. the metal presentation base is modern.
