A pair of beautiful "LUNÉVILLE" earthenware sconces. The products were manufactured between 1892 and 1922, according to the signature. In 1728, Jacques Chambret founded the first earthenware factory in Lorraine in the commune of Lunéville near the Meuse, not far from the Vésuse. Thanks to its economic and artistic success, the factory received the status of Royal Faience Factory of the Dukes of Lorraine in 1749. The Lunéville factory was one of the main competitors of the famous English and German ceramic centers, and Chambret managed to successfully export his products to Italy, Germany, Poland, Switzerland and even the Netherlands.
