He enrolled at the Cignaroli academy in Verona with excellent results and the awarding of numerous awards, and then continued his training in the academies of Naples, Rome and Florence. He took part in some exhibitions of the Society of Fine Arts in Verona, and worked on the first commissions for funerary monuments and some portraits for the Veronese Protomoteca. His first opportunity for major public work occurred in 1882 with the column dedicated to the battle of S. Lucia, which he executed together with his fellow citizen sculptor Romeo Cristani, a work that would make him an active member of Cignaroli. In the same period and in the following years he erected various monuments to Garibaldi, Iseo, Mantua and the equestrian one in Verona, while in Crermona he executed the one to Ponchielli. He continues with various public works (gravestone in Cairoli, monument to Amedeo d'Aosta) and in the Monumental and Jewish cemeteries of Verona, Legnago and Iseo. He participates in the cultural life of the city by collaborating with the magazine "La Ronda" and works for the exhibitions in Verona, Turin and Milan. In the last part of his life, despite some hospitalizations for health problems, he continued to work on many projects, often with patriotic subjects. He spent his last years in the city shelter, where a laboratory was set up for him in which he modeled until the end of a life defined by his contemporaries as bohemian in style.
