About the artist: Hermann Dyck was a German painter, draftsman and engraver. In Munich, Hermann Dyck devoted himself to architectural painting, to which he knew how to give a particular charm thanks to historical-cultural staffing. His collaboration with Fliegende Blätter, which began to appear in 1844, matured in him a remarkable satirical talent. In 1854, he took over as director of the drawing school for craftsmen, a position he held until the institution was elevated to the status of a public establishment in 1868. Hermann Dyck died in March 1874.
