BIOGRAPHY:
Marek Halter, born in 1936 in Warsaw, is a French writer and painter. A Jew of Polish origin, naturalized French in 1980, peace activist. He is the son of a printer and a Yiddish poet.
At the age of five, he escaped with his parents from the Warsaw ghetto. Upon their arrival in Ukraine, a Red Army patrol directed them to Moscow. Then, at the start of the German-Soviet war, Marek and his family were sent to Kokand, in Uzbekistan.
he returned to Poland in 1946.
In 1950, Marek Halter and his parents settled in Paris. he enrolled at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts.
He is best known as a renowned writer, but he is also a talented painter, listed in the Bénézit and Art Price
