"Folk Art: Wrought Iron Toaster"
Lovely folk art object: wrought iron toaster still perfectly functional. The "U" shaped grid called the "cradle" pivots on an axis to toast the slices of bread on both sides. The handle, quite long, allowed the toaster to be brought close to the hearth without burning yourself. An inscription on the handle "Fitan Lagraulet 32" indicates its origin: the Gers department in the South West of France. The heart shapes at the end of the handle and its three feet add a significant charm to this folk art object. Very well preserved. Work from the beginning of the 20th century.
