The Medusa head and the myth of Perseo is a long story in the Arts...... Here we have a pair of antique earrings with a Medusa head hand-carved in the precious ivory full of details. Please look carefully at the amazing snakes that move realistically around the head. The face and the mouth are very expressive. They are mounted on turtleshell and on the top there is a bead of turtleshell with gold piquè points. All is mounted in 14K Gold. They are an amazing little masterpieces of Art. From Rome end of the 19th century. 14K Gold (touchstone tested). They are in perfect condition.
