Very rare set bound in 2 beautiful full leather amicorum albums in 4vo format produced by the Agenais poet Jean Béchade Labarthe: The Album entitled "Jean Cayrol - Abeilles et Pensées" contains: - 43 handwritten letters from the poet Jean Cayrol addressed to the poet Béchade Labarthe between the years 1927 and 1930 covering the period of creation of the magazine "Abeilles et Pensées" (often on letterhead of the magazine "Abeilles et Pensées") with the original envelopes. - Postcards from Jacques Dalléas and Jean Cayrol to Béchade - A handwritten letter from Yvonne Varcey (Madeleine Brisson) to Béchade - Three handwritten letters from Pierre de Nolhac to Béchade in 1928, including one concerning one of his unpublished poems "Les deux Lotus" and one speaking of François Mauriac - A word from Tristan Bernard handwritten on a business card addressed to Béchade. - 17 handwritten poems by Jean Cayrol. - Numerous typewritten letters signed by Jean Cayrol to Béchade. - 12 "Abeilles et Pensées" magazines (from July 1927 to February 1929) Including 5 issues in a limited edition of 15 and 25 copies on laid paper. Born in Prayssas in 1906 and died in 2002 Jean Béchade-Labarthe is a French poet, friend of Cocteau, Mauriac, André Gide, Fouras, Jacques Dalléas, Cayrol, Maurois, Marcel Jouhandeau etc, with whom he also maintained an important written correspondence. He was also a justice of the peace, lawyer, examining magistrate in Agen, bibliophile, literary critic and writer. He participated in the magazine "La Bouteille à la mer" "Abeilles et Pensées" "Cahiers du Fleuve" "La Hune" and wrote many poetry essays. Jean Cayrol (born 06/06/1910 in Bordeaux - died 10/02/2005 in Bordeaux) is a writer, poet and editor. He founded in Bordeaux supported by Mauriac when he was only 16 years old with his friend the poet and painter Jacques Dalléas the poetry magazines "Abeilles et Pensées" then the "Cahiers du Fleuve" His period of resistance during which he knew the concentration camp of Mauthausen deeply marked his work and his "Poemes de la Nuit et du Brouillard" were used in the film of the same name directed by Alain Resnais.
