Salome with the Head of John the Baptist
Oil on canvas, cm. 44×36
Within an ebonized wooden frame for a total of cm. 62×54

Provenance:
Udine, private collection

In good general condition, as evident from the attached photographs, the painting depicts one of the most famous subjects of painting from the 16th to the 18th century (just think of the extraordinary canvas by Caravaggio today at the National Museum in London).

On the back, in the lower part of the frame, a pen inscription attributes the work to Alessandro Varotari known as Padovanino.
