"Pistol Mle An XIII De Charleville"
Pistol model An XIII from the Manufacture de Charleville.
Round body plate and espalet hammer, engraved "Manufre Imple de Charleville" and stamped with the C in a diamond of Jean Louis Compas, reviser at the manufacture from 1812 to 1815. The interior of the lock is perfect.
Left-sided barrel dated 1813, right-sided bearing the S under the star of Inspector Achille Sauvé in office from 1812 to 1813. Breech tail engraved Mle An 13.
All parts are stamped with the T in crown of François Tisseron, controller from 1796 to 1815.
On the back of the counter-plate, the reception stamp is dated 8bre (for October) 1813. We find there the S of Inspector Sauvé and the B of the first controller Pierre Bouny at the factory from 1807 to 1817. On the back of the stamp, the wood is struck with a B and a C under crown.
This pistol is in excellent condition, in a beautiful patina. Hallmarks and engravings are very fresh. All markings are uniform.
