Very good quality engraving representing the martyrdom of Saint Andrew drawn and engraved by Michel II Corneille, known as Le Jeune (1642-1708). Dated lower right 1696. This engraving was edged and pasted onto a canvas. It is framed under old glass in a 19th century golden baguette frame. I am attaching a photo of a complete copy as well as the original of this work done in brown ink, watercolor and pen, now preserved by the Louvre Museum and acquired in 1920. A few bites from insects that have now disappeared, a discreet halo in the bottom left corner.
