A silver gilt signet ring.

German, mid 18th century.

Ring size O UK / 7 US.

The bezel measures 2 x 1.7cm.

The bezel is engraved with a coat of arms with two ducks either side of a tree, surmounted by a knights helmet and flanked by foliate scrolls. The pierced shoulders are each decorated with heraldic lions, the reverse of the bezel decorated with high Rococo scrolls. The ring is made from a converted fob seal, it retains traces of original gilding.
