Rare coconut shell tattooist's bowl for religious tattoos in temples, black lacquered coconut carved with crowned monkey motif and covered with gold leaf, Mandalay province, late 19th century, Burma, beautiful patina of use. Length 8 cm, height 2.5 cm, collected by me in 1990 in Mandalay.
