Blue background with gold stripes, decorated with garlands of foliage, fleurons, gilded dots. Gold threads on the edges. Dimension(s): Cup: Height. 6.5 cm - Length. 8.7 cm - Saucer: Diam. 13.3 cm Condition(s): PERFECT CONDITION, Period: EMPIRE, HARD-CURED PORCELAIN. Individual container for drinking generally hot liquids. The cup has a rounded vertical side handle with a "comma". It is cylindrical in shape with a flat bottom resting on a slight heel. Its matching saucer also has a flat bottom resting on a slight heel and a high sloping edge. The name "litron" cup was given by the Manufacture de Vincennes around 1752. It was inspired by the tankard to create this model. Cups and saucers appeared in series from the beginning of the 18th century.
